The X Files is a popular American made science fiction show that aired from 1993-2002 and then again for one year each in 2016 and 2018.

The show follows FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigate unsolved and strange cases referred to as “the x files.” These cases all involve something in the world of the supernatural/paranormal or unexplainable.

The show is most well-known for being associated with aliens as the show starts with an alien investigation and throughout the show there are numerous space themes. Further, one of the most well known references in pop culture today from the show come from its association with aliens; the poster hanging on the wall with a classic saucer style UFO with text that reads “I want to believe.”

The X Files have also made an appearance on The Simpsons in episode ten of the eighth season titled “The Springfield Files.” This episode is a popular one for tattoo collectors to pull ideas from as it combines a well paired duo of The Simpsons and X Files into one fun design.

Other popular designs include portraits of Mulder and Scully, UFO’s with text, various quotes from the show, and props from the show that are character specific such as Scully’s phone.
